I am absolutely in love with the blue paint on this Audi S3 cabriolet at the Geneva Auto Show, but the chrome wheels just effing ruin it for me. I've never been a fan of chrome-bling and I think it looks chintzy on something German.

Other cars that have been ruined by chrome wheels:
All of them.
Especially the SS and the new 'Vette. And those are dealer options.
On the SS it's the only wheels you can get.

I like the spoke design...but yeah town down the chrome

Can chrome wheels be on their way out, please? That and fake wood interior trim. Two "upgrades" I just don't understand

Sepang? win.
chrome? GTFO.

It seems to be a wee bit too light to be Sepang and it's definitely not Sprint. I'm wondering if it's Ara Blue that Audi has been using in their press renderings of late.

Agreed with the wheel design. It would be perfect if it were done in the same matte alu finish as the windshield surround.

the only metals on this car are the logos, chrome covered plastic front and rear, S3 emblems the same, and a brushed windshield surround, and those wheels. I agree, if they had an awesome brushed finish to them and a wider spoke design it would play off that surround nicely. Chrome is horrible here

Those wheels would look nice, if they weren't chrome that is.

For the level of hatred that chrome has around here, I imagine it raped and/or killed a lot of peoples family members or something.
Car looks great.... EXCEPT THAT BIT OF CHROME! 0/10 WOULD BURN AGAIN

There are times where chrome looks fine and that's usually when it's done as proper accents. Not plastered all over a car/truck or when it takes away from an already beautiful car.

I see it in 2 places on this car
1. The 4 rings
2. The wheels
looks fine to me?

Rings are fine with me, but the chrome wheels on draws my eyes away from the rest of the car. To each their own.

its different when the wheels are actually ugly, showing off a nice set of wheels usually isn't a problem
I know kids these days like pink and green plastidipped BBS knockoffs and stuff, I don't see many cars coming with factory lacy spoke wheels anymore though.

According to the Colors & Wheels section of each of their configurators on the Chevy website, chrome wheels are a factory option on the Corvette, and polished wheels are standard on the SS.
Bling on!

I have a feeling these are polished rather than full-on chrome. I can sorta live with it because my old 10th Anniversary Edition Miata had a similar blue & polished wheel act going on.
